Patchwork
Quilters The Patchwork quilters meet
Thursdays at 9:30 AM in the fellowship hall. We
invite anyone who is interested or curious as
to how these lovely quilts are put together
for Lutheran World Relief to join us for fun
and fellowship. Even if you are unable to come
every Thursday, or if you can only stay for an
hour or two - we would still love to see
you.
The "Patch-Work" quilters are busy assembling
quilts for the Spring shipment to Lutheran
World Relief. The shipment date is not until
the first weekend in May, but there is a need
for many items, besides the quilts. Is it time
to check your closets for clothes you no
longer wear, or clothes that don’t fit, or not
the right color for you? We will be gathering
items such as the following for the Lutheran
World Relief shipment:
·
Good new or used clothing for infants,
children and men
·
Sweater’s and sweatshirts for all
No women’s clothing are needed for this spring
shipment. Also needed are more of the Health
Kits, Sewing Kits and Layettes. (See attached
sheet with all the information as to what is
included for this kits).
According to the latest report from Ruth and
Ken Helling, there were 266 churches from the
Pacific Northwest that sent the following in
the Fall 2004 shipment to LUTHERAN WORLD
RELIEF:
12,398 quilts; 251 blankets; 2,998 health kits;
3,393 layettes; 954 sewing kits; 9,884 lbs. of
clothing and 1,783 lbs. of sweaters
The "Patch-Work" quilters wish to thank all
who have contributed so generously to help us
with our project for Lutheran World Relief!
Esther Burnside,
Esther Degel, Norma Huppert, Doris Nelson,
Lenore Trachta, Silvia Wegner, Lois Schelp AND
to our "associate" member from Illinois,
Audrey "Aud" Daub, who really is a big help
putting our quilts together.
